I'm building the GR Research AV-1RS surround speakers and have a question about mounting the inductors. I glued the components to a thin piece of mdf and was going to screw the assembly to the bottom of the speaker with the screws going through the center of the inductors. Will the metal screw affect the inductor?

If I remember correctly, the core needs to be centered to have much of an affect but I havent tried that so cant say for sure. If you are worried, try brass screws.

Thanks Graham, good idea, I'll use the brass screws just to make sure. I want to screw the xover down instead of glueing it so I can remove it later if necessary. Had to remove a glued xover once before and it was a hassle.
