Contract when selling car? (1 Viewer)

Im sure many of you have sold your personal vehicles.

What id like to know is do i need a contract when selling my vehicle.

Sure ive sold cars before when i was younger, but they were basically cheap classics which i sold for no more than $2000.

Now im selling my truck ($20,000+) and would like some help in figureing out if i should draw up some kind of "As Is" contract?

What should be included in it?

i've generally just made a bill of sale stating sold "as is, where is" with date and time, giving a signed copy to the buyer and having them sign a copy for you to keep.

That sounds simple enough, but i guess it might also depend on the laws of your givin state too??

Im thinking of either a Toyota 4x4 or a Honda Accord.

Nice, but if i were to go larger than a compact truck, id rather have a real fullsize.

I'd like to have a fullsize truck, but my one car garage is a bit small. The only fullsize pickup that'll fit is a regular cab with a short bed. :frowning:

Ill take the 18/22 out of a Toyota 4x4 ANY day compared to my 13mpg!

It's just the guys I know with them (and this is the 4 cyl) are getting around 12-15.
