Saw this at Circuit City today for about $60.

This looks great for what I need, just want to capture Conan O'Brien skits I have on VHS to PC. The thing is it never really specifies which codec it uses to cap the video in. I'm wary about getting this so just wanted to see if anyone else has used it or if there's a better product for the money.
Thanks for any help.. Scott

here was a thread on it awhile ago...
I have it, and Andre has it as well. Its a great little device, but audio capture hasnt worked for me using XP yet.
You can use any kind of codec, since its software (im not 100% clear on this), but i've used itw tih MPEG1, MPEG2, DivX, AVis, they all work. Also hooked it up to my camcorder and used it as a webcam :)

Cool, think I might pick this up this weekend. I checked the other thread, thx for the tip about the Line-in cable solution.

And just out of curiousity do you have to use the program that Dazzle provides to cap video, or can you use something like Premiere 6.0? And how is Dazzle's program?

Yes, you can use any video capture program. it uses a generic windows video capture device.

I dont use dazzle's program.
