BJ's Wholesale Club (primarily a New England chain) has recently added a TON of DVD inventory. The newer releases are still there, but now they have boxes and boxes of older catalog titles, separated by studio. These are NOT located on the same shelves as the new releases.

Prices range from $9.99 to $14.99.

Good deals on catalog titles through mid 90's releases. (I picked up As Good as it Gets, Benny & Joon, Braveheart and Sneakers and paid $55).

Just an FYI for those of you who live near a BJ's...

If $55 reflects pre-Tax numbers, then that sounds like the average savings for a club-type store.

These are the current SRP & average street prices for those items:

* AGaiG_____$19.99_____$14.99

* B&J_______$14.95_____$11.99

* BrvHt_____$24.99_____$19.99

* Snkrs_____$19.99_____$14.99

-----------------------------

_______________________$61.96

So getting these for $55 before tax is pretty decent; if that total price is an AFTER-TAX number, then that's just excellent!

That was after 5% Maine sales tax (actually, total was

$56 and change).

I can't remember specific prices on all of them, but Braveheart was the most expensive at $16.99, Benny & Joon was $9.99.

Significantly better prices than I had seen on most of the titles before. I had about 10 discs in my hands, before I remembered the upcoming releases of ST:TNG and Space:1999 season sets. There just isn't enough money.

I still may go back for The Thin Red Line (DTS)($12.99). There were a ton of fairly recent Fox discs for $12.99 / $14.99.

It's worth checking out if you live near a BJ's. Might be worth checking out a Sam's Club near you, as well.
