I haven't heard anything about this one hitting DVD any time soon, but I do know two things:
1. Disney owns it.
2. I'd buy it.

I'm waiting for this one and another gem from that era, The Sure Thing. Both movies are top-notch, although Patrick Dempsey's character gets a bit preachy at the end of Can't Buy Me Love. These have to come out on DVD sometime!

This title is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine...I hope this is announced someday soon. The Sure Thing is also one I'd like, but the LD can keep me satiated until then.

love this flick, the current vhs is opp, i was lucky to find a copy on vhs at a rental store going out of buisness. But i want my dvd copy now, its time for can't buy me love to get a nice widescreen treatment
