I can't get a picture to work but I'll try if it is absolutely necessary. Anyways, here's my problem:

Is it possible to put my sub (Yamaha YST-SW315) under my TV stand without sacrificing sound? It's a down firing sub and the stand is made with some sort of wood (not press board because it is extremely heavy) with black laminate over it. Any help woudl be appreciated. Thanks.

Your sub is most probably unshielded and your tv is probably a CRT model. Unshielded speakers that close to a CRT may cause interference. Plus, subs need to breathe (they move air in copious amounts), so enclosing on in a tight spot may not be a good thing. You may find the best place to put is in in a corner.
