Hello I have bought a Panasonic blu ray player and connected it hdmi to my Panasonic TV,can my blu Ray player be connected to my Onyko receiver instead?

The blu-ray player can be connected to your Onkyo receiver. That's the preferred connection of you wish to have 5.1 et al. surround sound. You don't get that via a TV connection.

Connect the Blu ray to the receiver and then the receiver to the tv. Usually the HDMI Arc2 output.
