Best Video Connections? (1 Viewer)

Need to start making sure I have the proper cables for the video connections in the new theater. Will be connecting three items to the projector (Sharp XR-10X).

Direct TV DVR - Has S-video and also 2 composite outputs
DVD player - S-video, component, and composite outputs
New game system to be determined soon

The projector has the following inputs on the back: S-video/component, and (2)15 pin connections.

Would it be better to connect the DVR with S-video and then use component to 15 pin cables for the DVD player and gaming systems? All the construction stuff has been easy......don't want to waste my efforts by using the wrong connections. Thanks for any assistance

Will you be using an AVR that upconverts to at least component?

Yes a receiver will be used for the system, just didn't mention it. Thanks

Run everything through the AVR (receiver) and use that for switching. You might want to look for a receiver that does upconversion to component so you only need component to the projector.
