I have a $200 gift card to Best Buy and I was wondering if anyone has bought a receiver from there? I'm willing to put another $400-$500 bucks with it to get the best one I can.

They carry the Yamaha HTR series...anyone got any opinions on these units?

Thanks

If you are willing to spend another $400-500 go check out a Marantz at accessories 4 less. My personal opinion is that the Marantz you can get for the $500 will outperform the yamaha at bbuy that is $700..............

i echo Jasen's sentiments. bb is not the best nor cheapest place to get a/v receivers, even after their HT demo rooms come out.

Well the HTR series Yammies are basically the same as the RX-V series just rated a little differently. Yamaha makes excellent equipment. If it were me I would get like the HTR 5890 or HTR 5990 or take a look at the Pioneer 1015. Any of these three will serve you well. Good luck in your descision.
