I am having a problem with audio drop outs when ever my reciever is decoding dolby digital from my DSS dish. I do not have the problem when playing DVD only DSS. Is this a common occurance or do i have a problem? Thanks

Hi Rick. Welcome to HTF!

How do you have the connection between the DSS receiver and your DD receiver? Is it optical or coaxial?

Regular drop outs have occured when people use an AUDIO cable for the coaxial-digital connection. The drop-outs stopped when they used a real VIDEO cable (usually with yellow markings on the RCA plugs).

Replace the optical cable with another type. This is the most likely culprit.
