Jack, what numbers are you using for the Tumult? These are the ones I got from somewhere but I don't know if they are the latest.

Re =3.14ohm
Le =3.05mH
Fs = 16Hz
Bl =16.16
Qms =4.15
Qes =0.395
Qts =0.36
VAS =226ltr
Sd =737cm2
Xmax =36mm (29 ultra linear)

Calculated from the above:

Rms =8.27Ns/m
Mms =335g
Cms =0.295mm/N

Are those the latest numbers? Using them, I get a Q = .7 box of about 76 liters with an Fb of about 32 Hz.

Whatever the specifics, this is shaping up to be an awesome driver.

Those are the numbers I've got, Dennis. Unibox gives me 67 liters for "standard design" of Qtc = .7, and 46 liters when I "optimise Vb for wanted Qtc" of .707...around 70 sounds more like it, though.

P.S. I added an observation for you to that "best sub for maggies" thread concerning the performance of the DPL12 over 100Hz...
