Any chance of Road to Wellville being done right?

    I mean in anamorphic widescreen not the P&S garbage the current one is.

    I doubt it. It wasn't a succesful film in the theaters or on video. Personally, I think it's pretty darn fun but you and I are definitely in the minority.

    i enjoyed this film also. hopkins is hilarious in it.at least its intentional this time as opposed to legends of the fall.

    I don't think we are the only ones who like this movie. When the P&S travesty came out, there were many who couldn't believe it.

    Filmed at Mohonk, my favorite mountain lake hotel....with dear Bridget, starkers in a milk bath.....I really need to replace my LD. :b

    I live in the town it's about. I remember when that movie came out some the cast came and toured the San.

    We were at Mohonk for 3 days or so years ago. Simply amazing place. My wife was pregnant at the time so I did some of the rock climbing solo. Spooky "Overlook" vibe but much older and spookier. No TVs -- awesome rooms.

    Does anyone know if the existing release is really pan&scan or if it's open-matte like Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut and The Shining?

    It's an open matte transfer. The Laserdisc is matted at 1.85:1.

    A remaster with a Parker commentary would be nice.
