Jeez, David...

I'm SO happy to see the list... Reading through this thread, I kept scrolling down just enough to see the name of the next poster, silently thrilled in anticipation of you actually posting your list... That just made my entire week...

Ok, so I've gotta post my own stuff now too... Gotta say though, that I absolutely can't recommend the SportsNight: Complete Series enough - Someone asked me last week my most rewatched DVD and if I could only take one to a desert island, same answer for both - SportsNight...

I kept some of the HBO movies and a music thing or two on this list - Lots of others (Springsteen, Queen, etc) were on TV as specials, but I have them all in my music section instead...

Technically, the HBO/cable stuff, like Soul of the Game, Gathering Storm and RKO 281, is television.... But I think some of that just blows away regular movie theatre stuff quite often...

I just added a group of 23 more items to the bottom of the previous post. I should really only count 22 of them, though, since 1 of them is an R2 release. One of them I just got yesterday...the King of Queens promo disc from Kelloggs' Pop Tarts was in my mailbox when I got home! :)

As far as it goes, the depth of my, uh, interest is why Gord "hired" me! Noone should feel bad; I probably need to seek a 12-step program for DVD addiction. I'm waaaay over the top, eh? Y'all have fine collections, whereas I should be a National Enquirer freak story.

Yesterday I was meeting a new manager at work (not a direct boss of mine, but someone who I must get stuff done for nonetheless) and we talked about videogames, and I mentioned that I was into collecting old systems back to the Atari. That lead to talking about DVD collections, and I simply said that "my collection is legendary around here". He asked how many I had, and I replied that it was over 3000 discs (DISCS, not SKUS, okay?...TNG S1 counts as "7 discs"). His eyes bugged out, and he said he thought HE had a lot with a few hundred. I responded that his collection is one for anyone to be jealous of...that I'm just a weirdo. He laughed, but still I don't think I made a friend there. I get the feeling he's always been #1 among anyone he's met for # of DVDs, and was planning to count me among the people he's bested. I hope I haven't put him off; he seems like a terrific guy.

Guys, I'm a well-paid IT Professional with a wife who's a well-paid computer project manager, who lives in a modest house. I'm both an extreme bargain-hunter (see The Weekly Roundup) and manage to get a few cheap/free items thanks to my position at TVShowsOnDVD.com being obsessive doesn't hurt at all.

As for "where?"...all over the floor at the moment! :) I need some more shelving.

The story so far:

24 - Seasons 1 & 2
Babylon 5 - Seasons 1 & 2
Band of Brothers
Farscape - Seasons 1-3
The Shield - Season 1
Star Trek The Next Generation 1-7
Star Trek Deep Space Nine 1-4

Not many different titles but the collection surely adds up to a decent amount of money. For a student, anyway. Future investments include continuation to all the series above and any new show I can find.

I have definitely set my limits on what tv on dvd to buy. There are so many great shows coming out and frankly there will never be enough money for it all, so I will only get the ones I truly can't live without.

I think I've posted this before (I'm sure I have) but here it is again:

Dvds that I am for sure getting:

Seinfeld 1-3
ROSWELL 2
Jem 3

My wish list (it's been altered):

The Monkees
The Addams Family
Get Smart
Gidget
Roseanne
The Wild Wild West
The Wonder Years
My Little Pony and Friends

My wishlist has gone down quite a bit after thinking it over and realizing that most of the shows I originally thought I wanted were just on the list for nostalgia, not really cause I would rewatch them. The ones in my list now are shows that were my most favorite and that I could definitely watch over and over.

Well, your "want list" doesn't even include many titles that are being released in the near future, so that should help keep your spending down. :D

For me, I moved Night Gallery to the "wait and see" column, but Munsters, Columbo, Golden Girls and Seinfeld are must-haves (as in street date Tuesday "must-haves").

I'm new to this, I have 32 tv sets I have bought in the last 4 months. The only saving grace is that I quit smoking, so I'm no better off, just healthier.

Not really, since I only buy about 1-2 TV shows a week so it doesn't break me but I do agree that there are many TV shows to buy. In fact, I still have many TV DVD's to purchase.

I have 29 tv box sets currently and have a list of 15 to request as Christmas presents. Currently working through my shows while summer reruns go on. Part me is considering giving up shows with fast dvd releases like Alias and Smallville. I don't have a ratings box so what am watching doesn't matter.

Eric ~ My wish list use to contain shows that have already been released or are scheduled for release, but since most of those were shows I have never seen or seen a few times, I have cut them from my list. Here is what my list use to look like:

Sports night
Party of Five
Who's the Boss
Felicity
Dawsons Creek
Smallville
Stargate SG-1
XFiles
Will and Grace
The Sheild
24 (actually my friend bought S1 and 2 so I will just borrow hers to watch)
Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman
Mystery Science Theater
Quantum Leap
Johnny Quest
Jetsons
Flintstones
Laverne and Shirley
Threes Company
Little House on the Prairie 4 and 5

Right now I decided that I would only buy shows that were my most absolute favorite (most of course being ones that aren't scheduled for release giving me time to save up for them).
