"Ya pays yer money, ya takes yer chance..."
After mentioning anomalies in my last few words regarding Still of the Night, here's another MGM title, released via Kino Lorber, that shines as a Blu-ray.
The first, and possibly most important fact here, is that the film is directed by the great Joseph L. Mankiewicz, one of the most literate of American filmmakers of his, or any era.
The Honey Pot, which has a stellar cast -- among whom are Rex Harrison, Susan Hayward, and Maggie Smith -- is a finely crafted whodunnit, that looks gorgeous on Blu-ray.
Magnificent colors, proper grain structure, and gorgeous blacks all make Kino Lorber's release a treat for the eyes, while the storyline does the same for the brain.
While the film originally opened at a more leisurely 150 minutes, the cut offered is 132.
