Be warned (Jor-El). The 5.1 track on iTunes is the 2001 Thau mix and not the 5.1 track from the 4K disc, which is derived from the original 70mm six-track split surround mix.

Well I bought it.
iTunes lists 2 audio tracks. Atmos and DD 5.1 but it defaults to Atmos and no way I can see to switch to DD 5.1

Ah, apologies. I posted a bit too hastily, thinking the question was whether the iTunes version features the same master as the 4K disc. If the audio is a deal-breaker, or your main reason for purchasing it, ask them for a refund and mention that you were given misleading information by some jerk on the internet. They're usually pretty good about that.

Change the subtitles or audio language for iTunes Store movies and TV shows

or if you have an old AppleTV like mine, I think you push the up arrow while the movie is playing to get to the audio and subtitle options.

Yeah the DD TRACK is just not there as an option.

I’ve been waiting for the 4K disc to drop but it hasn’t been lower then $20 yet and since I already have this movie a half a dozen different discs already I figure the digital version would be appropriate now.

The file not including the DD 5.1 track is a deal breaker and now I need to find out how to get a refund.

Well, I figured I might as well watch this even without the 5.1 DD track.

I almost can’t believe how good his movie looks now.

The first 48 minutes are just perfect.
When Superman flys up towards the camera for the first time
brings a tear to my eyes. Amazing.
Minute 52 we even get to see Clark goose Lois Lane, so funny.
Did anyone ever ask Christopher Reeve about that?

Scenes that have framing that is just wonderful.
These two shots always stood out for me and in 4K
Just wow.
I’ll probably ask Apple for a return since it doesn’t include the DD track once I figure out how to do it.
Apparently I have to wait until the purchase changes from pending and give me an item number.

I love everything about this movie.
This is “A Movie”.
It’s what it should feel like every time you go to the movies.

I think it’s also my favorite John Williams score.
