I’ve never heard of or known about this film. I looked up Roger Ebert’s review and it is an unusual film from what I’ve gathered from the review. I might have to check this title out and in the desaturated version. It sounds like it was very unusual role for Brando. I read that Montgomery Clift was to have starred had he not died.
Yes, and Elizabeth put up her salary since Montgomery Clift was uninsurable. She insisted he play this part. He died before he could though I'm not sure he would have made it through filming since he had had such a rocky time with John Huston on Freud.

Interesting Matt, perhaps Clift had misgivings himself prior to the making of this film but Taylor would act as an intermediary. I’d not seen Freud either.
