4.0 speaker configuration possible? (1 Viewer)

Ok, not sure if i should have put this on this board or the AVsources one, but here goes. I have a HK 520 and AE aegis 3 speakers. i just ordered a infocus X1 projector and hence am going the HT route. my question is, i would rather buy a pair of aegis one monitors for surrounds rather than a aegis center (since $ is tight, and the surrounds are more than $80 cheaper), so is there any way to have a 4.0 config, where the center channel comes out from the front l/r channels? i dont think i have seen anything on this possibility before, so any advice/comments would be much appreciated.

if you tell your receiver you have no subwoofer or center channel it should downmix the information into your main speakers without a problem.
