I have a 50" DLP Samsung and when I watch TV through my VIP 622 sattelite receiver the picture too big and runs off the screen. I opened up the side of the TV and I can see the picture running off from the screen because tis projected too big. I have it connected with component cords because the...
I have a 50' DLP Samsung and it had a VGA input on the back for your PC as well as HDMI and component Inputs. I am getting a Satellite receiver with a DVI output. I am wondering if the picture would still be HD if I used a DVI to VGA cord. Or would It be better just to use Component cords? I...
i have 2 subs set up on the right and left sides outside of the main speakers. i dont notice much difference yet between 100 and 150 or 200 yet. i guess my ears arent tuned in to that kind of detail yet. but it sounds pretty good on 100 so far. what should i look for if the speakers cant handle...

i got a speaker package from circuit city. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Onky...roductDetail.do I was wondering if i should set the speaker sizes to large or small and what i need to set the crossover frequency at on my receiver. i can choose from 100, 150 and 200

i have 4 ohm speakers and i need to get a receiver with at least 2 optical inputs and 1 coaxial for around 200-275 dollars. i found a receiver that i like as mentioned in my previos post, but it is an 8 ohm receiver. the receiver that the speakers were meant for put out 6 ohms and the receiver...
i found a receiver that I want to buy, but it is 6.1 channel and i only have 5 speakers and no room for a 6th one. i was wondering if it is ok to use it like that. I read a review on it that makes it seem like this is possible. " The major selling point for me was 6 channels of digital sound BUT...
I was looking at my subwoofer owner manual and it says to run the preamp out to one of the 2 inputs on the sub, but I have been using a y-adapter to connect it. when I take the y-adapter off, stereo mode sounds more like it should. could that be the problem?? am I not suppost to use a y-adapter?
Well I think that it is really pro logic II because it outputs to all 5 speakers and the sub. If I remember right pro logic is just the front speakers right? But anyways. Dolby digital sounds about right with the bass, pro logic is too quiet and stereo is way too much bass. see my other post...
it is the built in tone test on the receiver that I am using. The receiver is a RCA RT2300. Manual at http://download.ethomson.com/english...B/55021630.pdf the subwoofer is a mtx sw2 12 inch 100 watt sub. If I turn the volume way up on the receiver I can hear the subwoofer noise during the test...
Why dont i get any sound from the subwoofer channel in the pink test?? anybody know?? the subwoofer works fine with everything else just wont put out sound in the pink test.
i have all the speakers set to small and the sub is on but i still dont hear a test tone. i use the preamp output on the receiver and use a y-adapter to connect to the sub. when i have the x-over set all the way up it sounds like there is a little to much bass. male voices sonds way too low.
so does that mean i should just keep the freq on the lowest setting? also, on my receiver i can set the main speaker sizes to large or small, im not sure if it is just in my head but it seems like it sounds better whe i set them to large. what is the difference between the 2 settings.
i just got a new subwoofer and I need tips on how to get it set up. my main speakers are just small speakers. there is a crossover frequency knob from 60hz-160hz that i dont know what to set at, and there is a phase switch that has 0 degrees or 180 degrees. does anyone know of a sound file that...
well i have it so that there is the amount of bass that I want, but when I do the testing for speaker levels I dont even hear the subwoofer volume for some reason. my old receiver is just a cheap Home Theater in a box receiver with r/l stereo inputs. the only input option I can change is...
well i have all the speakers set to small and the subwoofer is turned on. if i put the volume to half on the old receiver it will be even quieter. Right now the old receivers volume is turned all the way up and the new receiver is almost all the way up. would i be better off getting a powered...
I recently got a new receiver but it doesent have a amp built in for the sub like my old on,e so I ran the preamp out into the rca input jacks on my old receiver with a y-adapter(a previous suggestion on this forum)so I can use my old receiver as an amp. This works but it is really quiet. i have...
I have speakers that are rated at 4 ohms. I was wondering if this meant I cant even get a receiver that is more than 4 ohms or if i can get one but just shouldnt turn the speakers up too far?
