Some reasons: 1. The outstanding and consistant reviews. (I honestly have not heard a single negative thing on these). 2. Price (Can't beat $199 for 5 quality speakers period). 3. I listen to a lot of classical music, I've heard these are amazing for that. 4. Color (I know, silly...
There's a seller on Ebay who says he is an authorized Fluance dealer. Anyone heard of his store Oakville Sound Advice? He is selling the same AV-HTB set for $20 cheaper than Fluance is, when you factor in shipping. Here is the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT...
** I don't need help with the mounting part. I am talking about WIRING it. Like how to put the cables through the ceiling or drywall, etc. Any info on that? Thanks!
Maybe I should clarify. I haven't purchased my projector yet. I want to find a projector/dvd player that are compatible and will give me the upconversion. I will likely end up with a 4805 or Optoma h30/h31. Can those pjs handle the upconversion?
Thanks Pat, again. :) I have to rethink this. I don't want to be spending $50 a month + equipment on a HDTV subscription if it's not going to look like true HDTV, such as that on a Plasma or DLP television. So basically, sub-$2000 projectors are typically for DVD watching and that's it?
Thanks for your responses. It just dawned on me that I might need to get a not so powerful sub woofer. I will be in a condo. Is there another under-$150 subwoofer that still is good quality but not as boomy? I hope I am making sense. Also, do I get powered or non powered sub if I have the...
I am so confused with this. If the 4805 is not HD compatible, why does it say it is in the description? http://www.projectorcentral.com/InFo...nPlay_4805.htm And what HD projectors could you instead recommend that won't break my bank account?
I was wondering if any of you have tried the 4805 from longer distances. Will it still have a clear picture quality from 21 feet? Is there a better alternative in that price category for long throws?
I am trying to set up an audio system that will work nicely with my HDTV projector. I was able to piece together these at just under $800. Let me know if you see any compatibiily problems or if you have any comments in general. Thanks. DVD player: Toshiba SD-5970 with HDMI/upconversion ($122...
Is there somewhere I can read up on ambient lighting for home theatres with projectors? I've read they can look just as good as plasma with the proper ambient lighting, but how do you get that ambient lighting? What kind of lighting is it exactly? Thanks!
Thanks for your input. One more question, does the BenQ PB6100 compare to the 4805? I am on a tight budget and the 6100 can be had for $200 less apparently. Thanks!
I've honestly never seen a DLP projector. How does a typical DLP projector's image quality compare to a DLP television? I already own a Samsung 50 inch DLP, and I am looking at the InFocus Screenplay 4805.
Thanks for the reply. This makes no sense to me. We bought ours brand new, non-refurbished in summer 2003, and the DVD+R that I tried playing (again, made with very good software and burner) doesn't work. I haven't tried DVD-R yet, but I just don't know why the DVD+R discs won't play, since...
Their spec sheet says the HD931 plays both DVD+R and DVD-R http://erms.samsungusa.com/customer/...=8529&SEQ_NO=1 but the manual doesn't say it does. What's up with that? I've tried playing DVD+R on my own HD931 and no luck, it wouldn't work, and I am using a very reliable Plextor 712A burner to...
It's the one that supposedly converts a standard DVD to a "high definition quality" picture. Anways, I need to know what computer DVD burners and blank DVD media play well on that Samsung DVD player. All I know is that this Samsung only reads DVD-R, but I need to purchase a burner for my...
Is there a big difference in picture quality? I am talking about the DVD players that give standard DVDs a hi def quality versus just a regular DVD player. I've never compared side by side.
My dad just got a Samsung HD931 DVD player which looks amazing on his new Samsung 50" DLP HDTV. But he has no speakers or receiver or surround system. His budget is $1000. What would be a good way to go? Also, he prefers floor standing speakers. Any thoughts?
