A welcome Blu Ray upgrade and undoubtedly the print will be immaculate ...after the release of an over proportionate amount of early 30's films, let's hope it signals the start of more 1950's films...particularly the Cinemascope & stereo sound films which benefit in more ways than the early 30's...less known like the 1928 "silent" MGM film that made Joan Crawford a star.....Our Darling Daughters ...but why? so many bigger, better films lying in the vaults that are unlikely to see a BD release in our lifetime at the current release rate. I purchased it out of interest but how many are they really going to sell? The release schedule continues to amaze with very strange selections each month - Father's Little Dividend...a short 82 minute "average" selection and Elvis lightweights Spinout & Double Trouble... come on Warner give us the big films, big stars especially widescreen & stereo...Goodbye Mr Chips ...Interrupted Melody ...Student Prince... Knights of Round Table ...and the many Technicolor "A" films...Scaramouche...Mogambo...Young Bess...Words & Music ...Three Little Words...

The reason you continue to be amazed and repeatedly post the same complaint is that you refuse to take on board the very sensible explanations that have been provided in numerous threads.

Many who love old movies do not regard Young Bess, The Student Prince and Interrupted Melody as bigger or better than Westward The Women and Father's Little Dividend.

And for those seeking “immaculate,” look no further than this example of nitrate wonderfulness. Apparently, the film was originally set for Frank Capra To direct.

Might this film have also been based upon the myth of the Sabine Women, which served as the basis os a slightly later film?
