The same view as last night, a few minutes ago:

The people in the background are cross-country skiers on the rail trail.

And the update from the other coast of the Hudson River...
Update from the other side of the continental divide....

About 2 inches early Monday morning, but it was mostly all melted by early afternoon. Temperatures rose to the high 30s F by mid afternoon. The Idaho legislature doesn't meet in session between April and January, keeping the people of Idaho safe.

The cats refused to pose out in the snow for cute photos. The vote in the house chambers was 2 to 1 against the measure.

That storm hit us last Monday night and through Tuesday. It's all still here, which is extremely rare for us.

12” in Rochester, NY (a friend told me)

Nothing outside D.C. I don’t think. But the weather was screwing up flights this morning.

We ended up with 24" of snow at my house.

C'est la vie.

But I get crankier about the winter weather as I get older. I guess that's a universal thing. I remember as a kid wondering why most older adults hated winter storms so much! :D

I'm even crankier though about the panic-driven forecasting that goes on...by the TV meteorologists and politicians who think they need to prove to their constituents that they are "on top of things" so that we will all, somehow, survive.

Right now it’s 58 degrees and sunny in central Arkansas. We seldom get significant snow.

Average annual snowfall here is about 20". Maybe 1" or 2" at a time. Just enough to make the homeless decide to move to someplace like Seattle or San Francisco.

Now it's 40* F, time to take the steak and garlic sourdough bread off the BBQ.

Snow is best as a temporary decoration, or up at the local ski resort.
