Hi, I have a samsung bluray surround system but it only has one digital input, I am wanting to connect my pc, sky hd and x-box, if I use an optical splitter will it affect the sound quality?

A splitter takes the signal from one source and sends it to two or more targets. You need an optical switcher. It takes multiple inputs and send it to one output.

For a few dollars more, you can get a true optical switch - http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10423&cs_id=1042302&p_id=2946&seq=1&format=2 .

It looks like the one from Monoprice but a slightly different color. Plastic molds are expensive so I'll bet they came from the same factory.
