I am planning on upgrading a Kenwood VR-507 (from a HTIB) to the Yammy 1400. I see that the receiver has 7 digital inputs (not including the front panel), 4 optical and 3 coaxial. The outputs are labeled (i.e. CD, DVD, etc.), and overlap between optical and coaxial, however I read that they are assignable. Does this mean that I will be able to connect 7 independent sources digitally?
Also, will the receier's ability to upconvert composite and S-Video sources to a component output produce a visible difference in picture; it will be hooked up to a Toshiba 50H81.
