Guys:

Just purchased a Yamaha DVC-6480 DVD player, and well, I love it. Everything I hoped for and more!!

Build quality is 1st rate, audio/video .....loving it.

Now for my question.....when calibrating the db output level for each speaker (5.1) using the Video Essentials DVD, should I calibrate using the Yammi DVD player's speaker management or my reciver's (Yamaha V692)??

Does it even matter....I have been debating this one in my head for a bit. Currently, I am using the receiver's.

Note: I am using the DVD player's built-in DD/DTS decoders and connected with the analog outputs into the receiver.

Thanks!!!

I don't know much about the V692, but if its like my V1 then using the 6 channel input bypasses all the receiver settings. In that case use the C6480 settings.
