It was planned for a Fall 2001 release, but MGM pulled it so they could make it a full blown special edition. It's expected sometime 2002.

Let MGM take their time, since they did cancel it the 1st time to make a spec. ed. I hate when they put out a dvd and then bring out a spec. ed. in a few months like they did with PLATOON and are doing with the HOWLING.

The german label "Kinowelt" is preparing a RC2 Special Edition of Carpenter's "The Fog" and the supplemental features will be licensed to MGM for their RC1 release.
This was discussed for a long time on the "Kinowelt" forum on the www.dvd-inside.de website.
There are no definite infos for the extra features, but the forum-operator from Kinowelt said, that he met Janet Leigh for making some extras!
The SE will be release in the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2002.
