Last monday buy a new tv set, a samsung HT42W5, the model has a cost of $1500 bucks (im in mexico but the price is in dollars), and yesterday saw in another forum i guy asking if samsung has another brand, AKAI, i dont know if this is true or not, but [censored], the tv set akai looks equal to samsung, please look this two pages

the damn photos are the same!
what can i do, i dont want an AKAI system with Samsung Logo.
I can buy a Mitsubishi Set for 1550 bucks, but Samsung has three years on warranty, and Mitsubishi only has one year, what can i do, took the samsung or change for the mitsubishi? the mit set is the WT-42311

Are you sure the Akai unit is not just OEM from Samsung?

Sony did that in the 50's and 60's. They produced televisions for Sears with the Sears logo, then persuaded RCA to do the same thing.

In general, I prefer the Mitsubishi brand (unless you are talking about the Samsung DLP units). But the Mitsubishi units dont accept 720p. If that limitation is ok with you, I'd go for the Mitsubishi.

i dont know if its an OEM but, maybe it is.
