I was trying to think of the last time a DVD was released on Friday... anybody remember?
As far as I know, it was "Blair Witch Project" in October 1999.
Jamie,
The last DVD to be release on a Friday was Any Given Sunday on September 1st, 2000.

Okay, the bonus CD will have about as much repeat play as The Beatles Christmas Album, and will be worth significantly less. :)
But yes, I mingled with the late-nite shoppers at Walmart to pick up SHREK this morning so I could get the free "Shrek: Home for the Holidays" CD.
It features four songs and is under 9 minutes in length. Near as I can tell, it indeed uses Mike Meyers and Eddie Murphy, or vocal talent that sounds remarkably similar.
And the DVD's are great!

Actually, $17.88 at Wal-Mart.

John,
It may be $17.88 in Texas, but I just came from a Wal*Mart SuperCenter here in Arkansas and it's $19.95.
Oh, well ... :)

The Wal-Mart I went to today had the DVD on sale for $17. Now that BONUS CD, I listened to it... I wasn't thrilled, might just give it to my younger cousins or something.
