Using the panny rp-91's dolby 5.1/dts decoder... (1 Viewer)

I was just wondering if it was a good idea to grab the rp-91 (800 canadian) and use it's dolby/dts decoder as a reciever, or to grab the 400 dollar rp-56 and buy a seperate reviever.

well you cant use it as a receiver. you will still need to buy a DD-ready receiver b/c you'll still need something to amplify and route the signal. if you dont have enough cash for the RP91 and a cheap receiver, go with the RP56 and get a decent head unit.

hmmm I thought it could do it.

How do those Sony packages work, where it comes with the dvd-player and a sub and speakers, with no amp?
