No order at all, but all essential viewing:

Pollyanna
The Parent Trap
Tom Jones
Borsalino (1970, which can be entered as 1970 is properly the last year of the 1960s)
My Fair Lady (new transfer)
Viridiana Bunuel
Truffaut The Wild Child
Truffaut Stolen Kisses
Alphaville jean luc godard
The Milky Way Bunuel

This list changes daily. Well, in my head at least.... But I'd be grateful to have any of these.

This is a list of films that I actually saw in the cinema in the sixties (so no One-Eyed Jacks or Tom Jones).

First a couple of Hammer's, Kiss Of The Vampire & Curse Of The Werewolf. Kiss was the first X certificate film I saw (& first Hammer), I was only 13, but tall, so passed for 16. The following year I caught up with a lot of Hammer films & Curse was a big favourite. Next, two action adventure films which I thought were just great & still enjoy, Taras Bulba & The Long Ships, great fun. The Alamo, my family were on holiday on the seaside the week this got a general release, we got back on Saturday morning (the last day of release) & it was straight on the bus to the cinema. I loved this, & if the roadshow version is a lost cause, then I hope the general release version gets a great looking release. The Great Race, nuff said. A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, I remember seeing the trailer & thinking, this looks great, & it was. I'm not that keen on musicals, but I loved this, & continue to love it. I'll Never Forget What's 'is Name, Michael Winner made some good films in the sixties, & I think this is the best (& Oliver Reed is just electric), & this was the first time I took a girl to the cinema. The Anchor Bay DVD looks great, with a terrific commentary by Winner. Cat Ballou, this was a huge film in the sixties, & I just loved it. Harper (I saw it with the UK title, The Moving Target), a Hollywood mainline film at its best, you came out of the cinema knowing you'd seen a great movie. The Charge Of The Light Brigade, I thought this was brilliant, & still do. I saw it when it opened uptown & again on general release, it needs a fully restored & great looking release.

So it's:

The Kiss Of The Vampire
The Curse Of The Werewolf
The Alamo
Taras Bulba
The Long Ships
The Great Race
Harper
A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum
I'll Never Forget What's 'is Name
The Charge Of The Light Brigade

Every time I read these lists.....I find another film I'd add to MY list. My list has gone from 10 to about 40 (and counting!).
Which is the main reason for their existence.

And the good part is that the people at the studios (hopefully including some big decision-makers on blu releases) see these lists as well.

Not in the US, and I (so far) never import for American-made films. I just don't see the point, especially when the title is pretty much guaranteed to eventually get a US release. Moreover, the foreign releases are barebones and there's a good chance that Paramount will at least port over most of the features from the loaded SE DVD set of a few years back.

As a side note, Hellfighters also got a BR release overseas over a year ago, but I'm still waiting on the US version of it as well. There's just too many other Region A titles for me to acquire at the moment to bother with a probable double dip. It's John Wayne. It'll be released here eventually. ;)

The point is I rather enjoy it now because who knows what my future is. Also, the UK releases are cheaper in a lot of the instances and are region free.

However, with that said, how you spend your monies is your business so I'll respect that by not saying anything more regarding that subject matter.

Born Free tops my list.

I prefer the 30's and 40's, but there's still plenty of 60's movies that I love. Here's 9 more that that I'd like to see...

-Pollyanna
-The Parent Trap
-Swiss Family Robinson
-Man's Favorite Sport?
-Please Don't Eat the Daisies
-Lover Come Back
-The Thrill of It All
-Move Over, Darling
-Send Me No Flowers

And there's certainly a lot more than that. I could easily nominate another half dozen Doris Day films like the previously mentioned Midnight Lace and pick a dozen more live action Disney films like That Darn Cat. And James Garner's filmography would contribute several more 60's films as well.

And with several Hayley Mills movies being mentioned, I'd also love to see what I believe is her first post Disney film, the comedy 'The Trouble With Angels', be released. That one is the only non Disney film of her's that I love.

And Bob Hope had several good films during this decade as well. None of them quite break into my top 10 list, but there's at least a half dozen there that I'd buy on Blu-Ray if given the opportunity.

I have those in bold on BD so there has been some progress, but not enough in my opinion.

The films I await most eagerly on Blu-ray disc are not always my favorite movies. It's those films where the DVD does not begin to do justice to the film's lighting, photography and sets and those films where there is no DVD! (I'm delighted that Woman Of Straw is coming in April)

Ride The High Country
Barabbas
The Cardinal
Lord Jim
Lost Command
Nevada Smith
Hour Of The Gun
The Hell With Heroes
Gaily, Gaily
The Last Valley

Three of these films have been released in Europe or Australia but "the word" is not encouraging. Two others have disappeared and are not even on DVD. The Last Valley was filmed in Todd-AO.

Like everyone else, I could easily find another ten films I'd love to see on Blu-ray

Well The Last Valley is 1971, but it's one on that list I'd like the most. I saw it when it opened in London's West End, & it looked just stunning (& what a great John Barry score!). I wonder if it'll ever be done properly (or at all).

Tragan, I'm getting a bit of deja vu looking at that list :)At least we know that A Man For All Seasons is coming from Twilight Time next year.
