Could somebody please let me know what gauge speaker wire I need. It will be about a 100 ft. run to each of my surround speakers. Thanks

a general rule is 14 gauge or lower for 50 and uner and 12 gauge or lower for 100 feet to 50 feet, so I'd get 12 gauge.

Thanks guys. Now is there a difference in speaker wire. Or can I just go to radio shack and get 12 gauge normal speaker wire. Thanks

There is a difference in speaker wire grade, and I think Radioshack is overpriced for their quality of wire. Got to www.partsexpress.com and search for sound kind 12 gauge. That is very nice wire, especially for the price.

But for an in-wall run, go with the stuff that's rated CL2/3 to meet possible fire and building codes.
