Why do retailers always run these sales during the holiday season when I'm supposed to be buying gifts for OTHER people (and mostly people who wouldn't appreciate the gift of a TT disc)?

I'd buy for myself, then give them to others for reimbursement and wrapping when they ask me what I want, but that always seems presumptuous even if there's no way they'd ever go online and order these for me themselves.

How is it feasibly possible to be friends with anyone who doesn't have a TT sensibility?

Is there a way to view only the TT titles? I was looking at the website and they seem to have added titles from other labels.

I think so. At the SAE site try searching for "Twilight Time" while selecting "blu-rays" as the format. That's worked for me, anyway.

Just down the page a bit at SAE, you can select movie releases by label.

Or here's a direct link:

http://screenarchives.com/display_results.cfm/category/546/TWILIGHT-TIME/

You can also choose "Company Labels" from the menu options in the left column, then select Twilight Time from that list.

Since I have most of the $10 titles, these are the titles in the next group, the $14.95 group, that I'm thinking about. If anyone has any comments on these, or other titles, it would be appreciated. It's a big plus for me to have an audio commentary. Anyway, I'm considering getting:

Stanley and Iris
Nicholas Nickleby
Barefoot Contessa
Pretty Poison
The Boston Strangler
The Eye of the Needle
9 to 5
Strange Invaders
World of Henry Orient

But I can probably only afford 4 of these. Any suggestions?

Wish I knew your tastes and collection to its fullest extent; but, with that said, "The World of Henry Orient" is a sweet and wonderful gem.
This BD also has a TT triple-threat commentary with Nick, Julie and Jeff.:)

Anyway, I'm considering getting:

Barefoot Contessa

I wrote about Barefoot Contessa in my blind buy thread earlier in the year, there might be something of use here:
https://www.hometheaterforum.com/co...unseen-collection.351292/page-40#post-4491055

To summarize briefly, I love Bogart, so I'm of the mind that owning any Bogart title in HD is worthwhile. But, to put my more objective hat on, it's not the best film from either Bogart or the writer-director Joseph L. Mankiewicz. It was by no means bad, but it took a long time to tell what's essentially a simple story that's been told better elswhere (and by the same people who worked on this). The transfer, which MGM provided, leaves something to be desired - it's not unwatchable but it's also not mindblowing. But, on the positive side, the 3.0 Perspecta track with panning dialogue is pretty nice.

I think it's a movie worth seeing but if you're not a die-hard Bogart guy, it's a little hard for me to recommend as a blind buy. If you are a die-hard Bogart guy, getting it on sale is the way to go. I paid full price and while I don't regret it, if I knew then what I knew now, I would probably have waited on a sale.

I've reviewed most of these so a quick search should bring up my reviews if you're interested.

I loved Nicholas Nickleby when I first saw it years ago. I have the TT disc, but have not found time to watch it again. Maybe that's what I'll watch tonight. :)
