On some of the Episodes of the opening Credits on the Munsters Season 2 Box set, the sound is missing as Herman busts through the front door! Did anyone else notice this? What gives?

This was always the case. Some episodes have the sound of the door bursting, some do not.

Maybe the sound effect was added for syndication. Just an idea...
