Hello All,

My wife recently saw an Ebert&Roepper episode where they reviewed a movie called "The Independent". I stars Jerry Stiller and both critics liked the movie. Since then, we haven not heard a word about the movie. Does anyone know if this film was released nationally? Was it just shown at a screening and is not in release yet? Just curious if anyone knows anything about it.

It's a stitch, but remember, it's a real independent movie. Miramax may be able to get a national roll-out, but the folks with The Independent have to book individual theaters depending on when the theaters feel THEY can fit it in. I saw it in mid-February at Boston's SF/27 marathon, and it was a special presentation. They said it would likely play Cambridge sometime in March, but the booking hasn't happened.
