The Evil of Frankenstein (1964) Hammer Films. Coming May 19th From Shout !

This double-dip announcement is something of a surprise for me.
Among the 8 Hammer Films in the Universal Blu-ray set, “The Evil of Frankenstein” is really the one with reference quality --
Better color than any 35mm print that I saw in the 1960s.
So spotless & clean as Universal even removed the “baked-in” optical dirt in the opening titles.
Properly framed (as anywhere from 1.75 to 1.85 would be good for this film).

I’m excited about Shout’s double-dip announcement of “The Curse of the Werewolf” as that film is framed too tight on Universal’s 8 Hammer Films set.

I'm in. Hope Shout does "Brides of Dracula". My favorite Universal Hammer film.

I agree with aPhil, the transfer in the Universal Hammer box looks damn good, nigh on perfect (maybe a tiny bit too sharp if I'm being super critical), I can't see the new release topping it.

Brides of Dracula and Phantom of the Opera will most likely be coming also in properly framed Special Editions later this year from Shout ! : ) I can't wait !
