Upgrading to the Denon 4802 from the 4800 was my plan. I just like to stay current. I guess it wont be happening, the price on the 4802 is $4000.00can! If you are going to pay this much, I think you should spring the $5000.00 for the 5800. What do you guys think? I know the 5800 and 4802 will be battling it out the next few months, has anyone came to any results on sound comparison/performance tests?

Bruce,,You should be able to get the Denon 5800 for under $4,150 CDN
I would imagine the 4802 can be had for lower.
The price you quoted must be the list price.

This is a little off topic but maybe one of you guys can help out a fellow Canadian, I too was wondering about upgrading to a Denon in the near future. Anyway I was wondering what the prices are on the modles like the 2802 and 3802... I would go to my local dealer and ask but do not have time to drive 150 km

(that and I am too cheap to call long distance). Thanks for your time.
Andrew
PS I did see a Yamaha RX-V1 for about $3500 Can or so, incase you want to go that route...

Hmmmm I'm really not sure you can get a Denon 5800 under 4150$. I saw one at >5000$.
If you see it at this price, buy it now... :)

I can get you a 5800 from an authorized dealer including warranty for US$2825, but I don't know what import fees you'd have to pay. Do any of you know how that works?

Andrew B - I picked up a 3802 last week for $1,700 plus taxes. I am in the Toronto area.
My dealer (Kennedy HiFi) has the RX-V1 on sale for $2,500 for anyone interested.
