Starting out in the theatre as well as a writer, Peter Bogdanovich – who left us last year – got his first break in Hollywood courtesy of maverick low budget producer/director Roger Corman. Bogdanovich’s first movie came with a couple of conditions: first, he had to utilize 20 minutes of footage from The Terror (1963) and second, Boris Karloff owed Corman two days of work; the goal was to create a brand new Karloff horror movie. The end result was much more different than Corman had ever imagined: Targets. Previously released on DVD by Paramount, Criterion has licensed the movie for its Blu-ray debut.
