Switchable Component Video Out (480P/480I) ? On a DVD player? (1 Viewer)

I was reading talk about the Panasonic-DVDRP56. Im also looking for a new DVD player.

and i was wondering what this "Switchable Component Video Out" does exactly.

Does it allow me to switch component devices hooked to the DVD player. or let my switch the DVD player between different devices?

Neither. It allows you to switch between interlaced or progressive scan so that it will work with TVs which are not progressive/HD capable.
