Subwoofer popping and buzzing when amp off. (1 Viewer)

I was just sitting here and about 15 minutes ago the sub in the other room, a 250w JBL just started buzzing and popping really loud. The amp, and old Kenwood 400w, and the TV, Mitsu. 65" HDTV, were all off. The sub is always on but never makes noise. I unplugged the Monster Sub cable from it and it was still makin the noise. So I unplugged. Any help appreciated.

This is pretty common with JBL subs. The amps in them have rather poor reliability. You're going to need a new amp. Is it still under warranty?
