Hi everyone I am building my own speaker stands and was wondering if you all could help me out and point me in the right direction of some good spikes for the bottoms of the stands.

If you have a local sporting goods store that caries archery suplies you can pick up arrow tips very cheap. Pick up some matching threaded inserts from the local hardware store and you have speaker spikes on the cheap without ordering. The Parts Express spikes are very long and unless you're using very thick bottom plates or let the spikes come all the way through the base then you're looking at having very tall spikes which could possibly make your stands LESS stable. Arrow tips don't have this problem.
