Does speaker and video cable use the same wire in them??
I was thinking for building my own. I was think of building my speaker and component cable for my HT. The most common I have read being is copper oxygen free. I have also seen fine silver being used. I have a few questions. What kind of jacket should i use? what is the difficulty of doing this? What tools are involved? Can anybody point me in the right direction. THX

They do not use the same wire. The speaker cable is an unshielded 2 conductor cable; the video cable is a 75 ohm (impedance) coaxial cable, like the ones you use for cable TV.

Try doing a search here to find out how to make your own cables. There is lots of advice already out there. If you can't find the info, let me know and I'll help you know.
