Austere is launching its lll Series speaker cable mounted on 50-foot spools, which is expected to be available in stores this month. The spools come in 12AWG or 14AWG SKUs and are priced $149.99 and $99.99, respectively. As well as the company’s ‘signature’ design and SoftTouch high-flex jacket, both used here, the cables employ 100% oxygen-free copper.
Designed to deliver the “ultimate in sound quality for the most discerning consumers”, the wire can be routed along baseboards and around corners, thanks to high-flex durable jackets. Austere opts for fine-stranded oxygen-free copper, rather than copper-clad aluminum, the latter of which the company says is up to 60% less efficient at conducting audio signals.  The result should produce “music the way it was intended to be heard.”
