So What Are Receiver's Digital Outputs Used For? (1 Viewer)

You see it all the time...mid to upper end AVRs equipped with optical and/or coaxial digital outputs. What good are they? Is the for possible use with other AVRs? What type of combos necessitate the outputs?

Digital Outputs can be used for a few diffrent things. For
starters you can pass a digital out signal to a Mini Disk
Recorder, DAT Recorder or Home CD Burner. Or as you stated
you could send a signal out to another processor.
