What wallpaper are you using on your computer right now?
And what are some of your all-time favorite pics to use as w'paper?

The picture of the jumbo jet flying in for a landing cannot possibly be real. Folks sunbathing would have their eardrums blown out by the sonic boom from the jets...wouldn't they?

Isn't the sonic boom caused by the air pressure diffs when a jet passes supersonic speeds (over Mach 1)? Certainly not a passenger jumbo jet about to land, no? Certainly it would be loud but not really ear drum piercing loud.

Jay, you're correct. Commercial jets do not cause sonic booms. However, I'm sure the noise coming from the jets on an airliner (especially at the distance the sun worshippers appear to be from the landing planes) isn't exactly at a low-level either, which may be why airline employees working on the runways and tarmac (sp?) wear ear protection while they work. :)
Actually, my point is that personally, this is not how I would like to spend my day at the beach. Unless, of course, you are Wayne and Garth. :D

Currently I have over 300 to choose from. Various Spider-Man, Star Trek and other favorite TV and movie images. Also lots of Angie Everhart, Harley Davidson Fatboy, Hummer, and whatever else grabs my fancy. Luckily I use a program that changes the wallpaper anytime I re-boot or turn my computer on.

It is indeed 100% real.
That great airport is Princess Juliana International in St. Maarten, The Netherlands. The lone 7,054-foot runway is just a few feet from the beach, making for some great photo ops .......

That is absolutely insane. Imagine if you're new to the beach and wasn't aware that it was in the path of the runway. I'd poop my pants...er, swim trunks, if I saw a Boeing 747 headed low and directly at me.
Ha!!!
