I use 640x480 ntsc with my s-video out on my htpc and it correctly fills the screen, but when I play a dvd (with any software) I get a screen size that is 1.5" shorter vertically than my stand alone dvd player does (32" tv). The stand alone dvd player plays slightly over the actual aspect ration and the htpc plays slightly under the actual aspect ratio. Are there any rememedies for this? They both look correct on my screen, but if they both look correct, then the larger of the two is what I want. How do I get my htpc to play the same size as my stand alone dvd player?
thanx for any help.

yes, I am absolutely 100% sure that it is not in 16x9 mode, I play with my home theater equipement too much to make that big of an error

fixed my own problem, used zoomplayer to do a mild 5% vertical stretch which puts the video right where the dvd standalone is. If anyone wants to do this, use zoomplayer, go to player options, choose aspect ratio and mess with the stretch.
