Just curious if anyone can tell what is the latest equivalent (hardware wise) of the RP-82. The reason I am asking is that I have now sent my RP-82 (suffering the "H02" problem) back to crutchfield for repair twice at their expense and they have yet to sucessfully fix it. If it comes back again non functional, I want to demand they replace it with an equivalent unit with similar performance and the same decoder chip, ect....

Thanks

The closest new model to the Panasonic RP82 is the Denon DVD-1200 for $399, or without DVD-audio its the DVD-910 for $299.

The Yamaha C920 or newer C940 has the same Panasonic MPEG decoder and de-interlacer. They are 5 disc carousels.
