Rotel 1066 vs.Outlaw 950 (1 Viewer)

I just purchased a Rotel 1066 on Audiogon, to replace my Atlantic Technology P 2000 (Outlaw 950). I realy expected some improvement. To me it sounds like that the Atlantic Processor sounds a lot better. Even the remote control, you almost have to sit on the unit to get it to responde. Now it seems like when you turn it up that the processor is running out of gas it almost sounds like it's clipping, is it possible for a processor to clip, where the Atlantic processor did not flintch at all. Is it me or my imagination. The Rotel is a fine looking unit though, but that's about it. Is there any fine tunig to be done that I am missing here. Thanks for any advise.
