Rope light for riser - color? (1 Viewer)

Hi guys,

I'm installing rope light along the front edge of the riser and wanted to know what color you guys think is the best.

I know that red light doesn't affect your eyes too much, but I was wondering how blue or green might be.

The colors for the walls are burgundy and blue, and the carpet probably be burgundy as well.

I am using white with a dimmer....works perfectly.

Do you have any problems with reflections off the T.V.?

None..they are wrapped around the risers in the theater...and run under the lip of said platforms. They outline the risers so in the dark one can see where they are going.

I was going to get clear initially but decided on red.

I also have burgundy carpet and went with red. It blends very nicely with the carpet.

How do you keep the rope lights running cool, especially since they make contact with the rug? I bought a blue set some time ago--very close in hue to the Sony panel displays--but became concerned with heat dissipated. The enclosed instructions also warned of heat buildup.

Heat has not been an issue for me..they stay lit 24/7.
