Sadly, I have and much worse than this on many occasions. This one was just about the desire to report a celebrity death first...which is disgusting but sells advertisements.

I think part of the problem this time was that the LAPD erroneously announced his death and places like CBS and Rolling Stone ran with it.
Rather unfortunate the way it all rolled out.
Reportedly Tom's daughter was very angry and tore a strip off Rolling Stone.

That was terrible about his daughter. Media already has people's obits written up. Kirk Douglas' was probably written in the 90s.

The But my friends and I loved the music video because it featured Skateboarders. I was a fan ever since then.

It didn’t hurt that the skater girl was so cute. I didn’t know until years later that the main skater guy in the video went on to murder a girl.

I liked Tom as Luanne’s husband on King of the Hill. They’re both gone now. :( Interestingly, he also did a really good song with Roger McGuinn called King of the Hill!

Yup, Gator.

One of the best documentaries I have seen(it's on YouTube) "Stoked:The rise and Fall of Gator" about the whole deal.

I've been listening to a lot of Tom Petty the past couple of days. What a body of work! So sad he is gone, but what an amazing legacy he leaves behind. RIP Tom.
