Hi guys

i am very new to the htpc area and am looking at building one and i have a question with the Maudio revolution 7.1 card.

Can you connect it straight to a power amp or does it have to go through a receiver. All the pictures i have seen only have 4 rca outs and a digital. So i am confused.

if it doesn't connect straight to an amp, is there a quality card that does ?

thanks in advance

Michael,

All you need to do is use the analog outs of the soundcard with 1/8 stereo miniplugs from radioshack to RCA patch card and run them to your different amps.. Each of the 4 outputs are stereo so one caries the left/right front, the other carries the center/sub the other, etc, etc.. then you just set the decoder to decode dolby digital, etc. I don't think it will do DTS unless you use SPDIF to an outboard DTS processor (preamp/receiver).. that is because the card only decodes dolby digital.. im pretty sure all the above info is accurate.
