Most of my budget will be spent on the monitor in revamping my HT. Therefore, I do not want to change the above mentioned receiver....though I do not think it has good video inputs....if my TV has enough video inputs can I get away with this receiver for decent sound? Came with Boston Acoustics bookshelf speakers and a powered sub.

Supports Dolby 5.1....DSP as well? Does not have DTS...am I missing anything?

I went from the rx-v496 to the rx-v1300 and have been very pleased. The 1300 is a great unit that you can find pretty good deals on these days. For me, I liked the addition of all-channel stereo and the "low-bass extention." I also run Boston speakers: CR-85 mains, CR-6 surrounds, CRC center.
